ProDentim Ingredients: Oral Probiotics & Prebiotics

Explore ProDentim ingredients including inulin, L. reuteri, L. paracasei, B. lactis BL-04 and S. salivarius, with evidence and label limits.

The actual label ingredient groups

The uploaded ProDentim Supplement Facts panel lists 100 mg of chicory-root inulin, a 20 mg proprietary probiotic blend and an additional 20 mg of Streptococcus salivarius. Its 3.5 billion CFU statement is attached to the proprietary probiotic blend. These values are the starting point for understanding the formulation.

The 20 mg blend names Lactobacillus paracasei, Lactobacillus reuteri and Bifidobacterium lactis BL-04, without showing individual viable organism counts. Those omissions matter when comparing the tablet with trials of named strains.

What prebiotic inulin can and cannot establish

Inulin is a fermentable carbohydrate found in chicory root. Prebiotic fiber can influence certain microbial populations in the gastrointestinal tract, but the effect depends on the amount, duration and community studied.

An inulin research finding at a much larger intake does not establish that 100 mg delivered in one oral soft tablet improves gum health, whiteness or breath.

Other ingredients and flavor components

Tricalcium phosphate, microcrystalline cellulose, natural strawberry flavor and peppermint essential oil are named as other ingredients. Packaging and seller language associate the strawberry flavor with a pleasant daily experience.

Tricalcium phosphate is not proof of in-mouth enamel remineralization, and peppermint is not evidence that the product treats the underlying cause of persistent halitosis. The label does not quantify these ingredients.
